Delta syncing

When a synced file exceeding 4 MB is modified, the BLOON app selectively resyncs the modified portions of the file only, rather than retransferring the entire file. This feature — delta syncing — saves bandwidth and enables much quicker syncing.

Delta syncing is triggered for files larger than 4 MB. Modified files within this size threshold are resynced in their entirety.

This feature is only enabled if the devices on both ends of a transfer are running a version of the BLOON app that supports it. At the moment, version 1.3.3 or higher of the BLOON desktop app is required. We recommend keeping the BLOON app updated to the latest version on each of your devices whenever possible.

This feature is powered by librsync, in tandem with BLOON's own P2P transfer technology.
